Mission Statement
Pesca de Mayo Invitational was founded on the principle of giving back. All proceeds from this event benefit Camp Aranzazu, a camp on Copano Bay that serves children with special needs, chronic illnesses, or disabilities. Camp Aranzazu hosts over 1,900 campers annually, with operating costs exceeding $2,000,000. Over the past four years, this tournament has raised more than $150,000 to support the camp’s mission.

2026 Rules:
1. Fish must be caught on Rod & Reel with artificial lures only.
2. Participant may wade or fish from boat but must always be in eyesight of fellow team member.
3. All fish are to be released. This tournament is a cumulative weight tournament determined by the max bag of three trout and two redfish per team.
4. All fish in your bag must be weighed and photographed on a tournament issued Catch Commander scale and then released. Fish and scale readout must be evident in photo/video. Please note, Catch Commander scales are not waterproof. The scales must also be returned (not waterlogged) or you will be charged $100.
5. Fish will be weighed and released ASAP. Qualifying fish will consist of any trout over 1 lb. and redfish within the slot of 3 lbs to 8 lbs. These parameters will be verified in the corresponding photos from the weighed fish. Length does not matter as all being released. The fish must be in the weight slots.
6. There will be trophies for top 3 teams and the El Truchador award for contestant with largest trout.
7. Each team will be provided a score card where total weight will be tabulated. Please note on your scorecard the team member with your largest trout. Your total tabulation and largest trout weight will be texted to our weighmaster Lester Lehman 713-817-3942 by 3:00 p.m. The Catch Commanders are set to decimals and not ounces to easily tabulate total. The top 3 teams and largest trout will be asked to show their scorecards and photos at determined time. Ties will be determined by photo time stamps.
8. Two members per team and boat.
9. No guides or commercial fishermen may participate as anglers in the tournament.
10. The tournament boundary will extend from the JFK Causeway to Austwell/Panther Point.
11. No airboats.
12. Lines in at 7:00 am and out 2:30 pm.
13. All TPWD game laws must be adhered!!!
14. Decisions of tournament officials will be final!!
